PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To renew the existing hoist efficiently and in a short time. SOLUTION: In an elevator system, a lower part of a machine beam 24 is buried in a floor 22 of a machine room 21 disposed on an upper side of an elevator hoistway 20 in which a car of an elevator moves up and down, a machine bed 27 is attached to an upper face of the machine beam, the hoist 28 moving up and down the car is fixed on an upper face of the machine bed. In a renewal method of an elevator hoist in the elevator system, the existing hoist 28 fixed to an upper face of the existing machine bed 27 is removed therefrom, a new machine bed 30 to which a new hoist 29 can be fixed is attached to the upper face of the existing machine bed 27 having the upper face from which the existing hoist is removed, the new machine bed 30 to which the new hoist 29 can be fixed, and then the new hoist 29 is fixed to the upper face of the attached new machine bed 30.
