PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine capable of increasing time and a stroke of an expansion stroke without extremely delaying and closing an intake valve. SOLUTION: A slider 26 slidingly guided by a guide member 24 capable of changing an offset quantity to the cylinder axis L1, a piston 15 and a crankshaft 16 are connected by first and second connecting rods 17 and 18, and since the guide member 24 is rocked by a control shaft 28 rotating at a rotating speed of a half of the crankshaft 16, the time and the stroke of the expansion stroke and time and a stroke of an intake stroke can be separately set, and thereby, while preventing spitting of intake air by eliminating the necessity of extremely delaying and closing the intake valve 22, the expansion ratio can be largely secured by enhancing heat efficiency by increasing the time of the expansion stroke, and increasing the stroke of the expansion stroke.
