ALLERGEN-INACTIVATING FIBER, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE FIBER AND FIBER PRODUCT USING THE FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber having excellent inactivating effects on an allergen, a method for producing the fiber and a fiber product containing the fiber. SOLUTION: The allergen-inactivating fiber is obtained by immobilizing Ag and/or Cu in an amount of≥2.5 mass% of the total mass of the fiber on a crosslinked fiber surface having a carboxy group and/or a salt thereof. The fiber can be produced by binding a Ag ion and/or a Cu ion with at least a part of the carboxy group of the crosslinked fiber, and subjecting the resultant fiber to alkali treatment to deposit and immobilize the Ag and/or Cu in an ultrafine particle shape with a nano-level size on the fiber surface.
