THERMOSETTING COMPOSITION CONTAINING CARBAMATE-FUNCTIONAL POLYMER PREPARED USING ATOM TRANSFER RADICAL POLYMERIZATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosetting composition, containing a carbamate-functional polymer which is prepared so as to have a well-controlled molecular weight and polymer chain structure, and a narrow molecular weight distribution, by using the atom transfer radical polymerization. SOLUTION: The thermosetting composition comprises (a) a crosslinking agent having at least two functional groups reactive with a carbamate and (b) a non-gelled carbamate-functional polymer prepared by the atom transfer radical polymerization in the presence of an initiator having at least one radically transferable group. The polymer contains at least one of the following polymer chain structures: -ä(M)p-(G)q}x- and -ä(G)q-(M)p}x-. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
