PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a rubber composition which is excellent in rubber-reinforcing property and damping performance and is capable of reducing dynamic-to-static modulus ratio. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the rubber composition, a diene rubber is kneaded with a fullerene at 150-200°C, the diene rubber is grafted to the fullerene, and the grafted fullerene is kneaded with a rubber material essentially comprising the diene rubber, sulfur and carbon black.
