A hologram recording device (A2) comprising a light source (10) for emitting a coherent light, a spatial optical modulator (20) having a plurality of light reflection elements (21) for reflecting, for respective unit sections divided into multiple sections, light from this light source (10) in one of a main outgoing direction and a specified cutoff direction to output light advancing in the outgoing direction as a signal light, and signal optical systems (30, 31) for applying the signal light onto a hologram recording medium (B), wherein the hologram recording device (A2) further comprises wave front shaping means (40, 41, 42) for condensing light thinned in a specified cutoff direction by the light reflection elements (21) of the spatial optical modulator (20) to shape the wave front of the light, and reference optical systems (50, 51) for applying light output from the wave front shaping means (40, 41, 42) as a reference light so as to overlap the signal light on the hologram recording medium (B).
