Provided is an HSM control program for causing a computer to execute the control of an HSM device. The HSM control program comprises the event data recording step of recording either a file operation of or an archive state change in a primary storage device as event data, the name space copying step of generating a name space copying database having copied the name space of the primary storage device, the name space following step of causing the name space copying database to follow the name space of the primary storage device on the basis of the event data, and the file movement instructing step of instructing a file movement between the primary storage device and a secondary storage device on the basis of the name space copying database.
