The invention relates to devices for breaking natural peat pieces, pressed peat bricks which are shaped during the peat production and oakum into a bulk fine-fibred semi-finished product, which can be used for plant cultivation in the form of a component for producing integrated substrates. The inventive hammer breaker comprises a body, a hammer rotor, specifically designed nozzles which are arranged inside the rotor and enable chemical liquid reagents to be injected into certain body areas, i.e., in the beginning and middle of the initial material breaking area. Said invention makes it possible to reduce the peat structure up to the size of 10-15 mm and simultaneously expand it, i.e., to restore a natural highbog peat structure. The inventive method is environmentally safe and is carried out without producing a peat dust during a breaking process.
