CARBON NANOTUBE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide single-walled carbon nanotubes having uniform and high quality and a high density. SOLUTION: Co-Ti nanoparticles having particle diameters of≤2 nm are deposited on an Si-substrate by generating pulse arcs in a range of about 50-100 times by using pulse arc plasma at a vacuum degree of 1×10-5Torr. Thereafter, carbon nanotubes are grown to form assemblies of single-walled carbon nanotubes having an average outer diameter of 2 nm and a high density, and being vertical to the substrate and highly parallel with one another.
