PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate change recognition in data having large numbers of data and data items while saving the labor in change confirmation work. SOLUTION: A general purpose computer reads, for each of a first file before change and a second file after change, a key field that is an object of change point retrieval and a preset key field, selects data having the same information for key field from the first file and the second file, compares the two selected data for each common field other than the key field. When information is not matched in any one field as a result of comparison, the computer stores this field as a change, writes the two selected data to a change history file, and assigns information for identifying the field stored as the change to the corresponding fields of the two data written in the change history file.
