<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melody setting device and a method that can set melodies matching hearing abilities of individual hard-of-hearing persons. <P>SOLUTION: The melody setting device which sets a melody based upon the relation between a previously set scale and a frequency is equipped with an audible register setting means of setting an audible register of a user by acquiring the number of a scale in the audible register of the user, and a storage means of storing a plurality of pieces of music differing in number of a scale constituting a melody of music to select music suitable to the audible register, and further equipped with a music selecting means of selecting music such that the number of a scale constituting the melody of the music is less than the number of the scale in the audible register of the user and a scale shift means of shifting the scale constituting the melody of the selected music to the scale in the audible register, so music which would be an easy-to-hear melody matching hearing ability characteristics of a user through frequency modulation by the scale shift means can automatically be selected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
