PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method capable of efficiently synthesizing a 1-halo-E,Z-4,6-hexadecadiene which is an intermediate commonly applicable to the synthesis of three kinds of sex pheromones of Stathmopoda masinissa with a short step in high purity and efficiently synthesizing three kinds of sex pheromones of Stathmopoda masinissa using the intermediate compound. SOLUTION: The 1-halo-E,Z-4,6-hexadecadiene compound is produced by the Wittig reaction of a 6-halo-E-2-hexenal with a phosphonium salt.
