PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device capable of more securely recording information on a data track when adopting a shingle write system. SOLUTION: In the disk device, when information is written according to the shingle write system for the plurality of adjoining data tracks on a recording medium 1, the actual writing position is detected on the basis of servo information recorded on the recording medium 1, and the writing of information is controlled according to whether or not the detected actual writing position satisfies a predetermined condition.
