PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing an electrophotographic toner in which a release agent is uniformly dispersed without reaggregation and which has excellent durability and transparency. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the electrophotographic toner includes: a step of kneading a raw material mixture containing a binder resin, a colorant and 3-30 parts by mass of a release agent based on 100 parts by mass of the binder resin; a step of slicing the resulting kneaded material in a width of 5-20 mm and a thickness of 2-10 mm; and a step of cooling the sliced kneaded material by directly blowing air without rolling.
