PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single lens reflex camera the camera body of which is compact. SOLUTION: In the camera body 1 of the single lens reflex camera 20, a shutter device 5 is disposed behind a mirror box 3, and a shutter control section 7 for opening or closing the shutter is disposed on the right side of the shutter device 5. The shutter control section 7 is provided with a charged lever 8. When the shutter is charged, the charged lever 8 is swung and driven by a swing lever 9 disposed on the underside of the shutter control section 7. The support shaft 10 of the swing lever 9 is situated behind the shutter control section 7, and the leading end of the swing lever 9 is situated below the shutter control section 7. Accordingly, the swing lever 9 does not project further forward than the shutter control section 7, and the thickness A1 of the grip portion 1a of the camera body 1 can be reduced.
