PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for inspecting an optical fiber bundle capable of easily and exactly calculating the number of optical fiber in an optical fiber bundle. SOLUTION: An image memory containing image information at the end surface of the optical fiber bundle showing the transmissivity of each optical fiber in an optical fiber bundle in accordance with concentration and an image processing means for measuring the total number of the optical fiber from the image information from the image memory are provided. The image processing means comprises a concentration range partition means for separating the total range of the concentration into a plurality of sections by varying in turn a threshold corresponding to the concentration, a calculation means for calculating the number of the optical fibers existing in the concentration section between the varied threshold and the threshold before the variation, and a measuring means for obtaining the total number of the optical fiber in each concentration section.
