PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending machine having a plurality of touch confirmation sensors on the butting portion of one back gage, which bending machine is equipped with an operation board which can easily select and assign a touch confirmation sensor to indicate ON when a butting part of a workpiece properly touches the butting portion of back gage, and the touch confirmation sensor which effectively functions when the workpiece is butted to a workpiece support for positioning. SOLUTION: The bending machine decides a metal die, a die layout, a workpiece position and a back gage position necessary for each bending process based on a product information. Then, the operation board 20 of the bending machine having push buttons 20A, 20B, 20C and 20D selects and assigns the touch confirmation sensor necessary for confirmation of a proper touching state between a workpiece butting part and a back gage butting portion 5 from among a plurality of touch confirmation sensors S1, S2, S3, S4, S5arranged on the butting portion 5 of one back gage.
