PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weed growth suppressing plate effective for suppressing the growth of weeds around a rod-shaped member such as a tree, an electric pole and a supporting wire of an electric pole and easily attachable to the growth suppressing area. SOLUTION: The weed growth suppressing plate 1 has an overlapped part 6 having a structure formed by overlapping both ends of a spiral web sheet 3 made of a flexible material and placed around an electric pole 7 contacting with the ground surface. The angle between an end a4 extending in radial direction at one edge of the overlapped part and an end b5 extending in radial direction at the other edge is 45°; the width of the spiral web sheet 3 is larger than the diameter of the rotary blade of a grass mower and the growth suppressing plate 1 has a hole at the center.
