PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an offset phenomenon induced by paper powder, such as calcium carbonate from sticking to a heating rotation body, in a fixing device that fixes an unfixed toner image to recording paper. SOLUTION: A cleaning device 5 is disposed facing a heating roll 1. A cleaning web 11 is pressed to two or more parts of the circumferential surface of the heating roll by means of abutting rolls 14 and 15, and thus the heating roll 1 is cleaned. The first abutting roll 14, which presses the cleaning web 11, is set to a negative-polarity potential with respect to the heating roll 1. The second abutting roll 15 is set to a positive-polarity potential. This makes it possible to remove not only the toner charged to the negative polarity, but also paper powder that has positive-polarity charges. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
