Electrically conductive carbon fabric in which a total electrical resistance is produced to suit the electrical task by cutting or punching out or separation. The fabric can be heated to the required temperature by application of a voltage. The fabric is electrically screened by a jacket of electrically conductive material. The fabric can consists of carbon fibers covered with a thermally deformable synthetic plastic to form a sandwich structure.
