Production of a nanoparticle-polymer composite for the production of optically transparent plastics articles by a press molding or casting process includes at least the following stages: selecting a solvent-soluble transparent polymer (I) and a filler (II) in the form of nanoparticles; dissolving (I) in a liquid solvent (mixture) and dispersing (II) in the (I) solution or in another solvent and combining the solutions; spray drying the resultant solution. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) composite obtained using this process; (2) optically transparent plastics article obtained by molding the composite.
