<p>The system has a franking machine (32) comprising a web server, and personal computers (34A-34C) and a portable digital terminal (34D) each including a web navigator for accessing a franking management application disposed at the server. The franking machine has a file transfer protocol server intended to cooperate with a file transfer protocol client installed in a remote management server (22).
