The lining (6) has a set of soft plastic components such as joint sealing (34), sealing lip, cover unit and pretensioning unit. A U-shaped accommodation (27) is provided for an adjacent component and has openings. A fixing unit is integrated in the pillar lining and is formed as clip for a motor vehicle or motor vehicle door. A decorative cover layer made of plastic and a support layer made of flexible plastic are provided. The pillar lining (6) is foil rear injection and made up of plastic. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle or motor vehicle door comprising a pillar lining.
