<p>A snap hook 1 having a hook shank 2 and a gate keeper 10. The hook shank 2 includes a main body 3 and a hook member 4. The hook member 4 has a hook bowl 6 and a hook bill 8 with the hook bill 8 and the main body 3 defining a gateway opening 9 therebetween. The gate keeper 10 has an open position and a closed position. When in its closed position the gate keeper 10 encloses the gateway opening 9 and when in its open position the gate keeper 10 allows passage of an object through the gateway opening 9. The snap hook 1 further includes a first (12, Fig. 7) and a second pivot point (13, Fig. 7) such that movement of the gate keeper 10) from its closed to its open position requires at least partially rotating the gate keeper (10) about its first pivot point (12, Fig. 7) and thereafter at least partially rotating the gate keeper 10 about its second pivot point (13, Fig. 7).</p> |
