Mounting a carrier of a graduation scale

The arrangement has a screw (10) urging a clamping jaw (6) against the screw. The screw is screwed into a fitted pin (8) for producing clamping force and displaces the clamping jaw on the fitted pin in a linear direction, where the force is divided into two force components. The clamping jaw urges a housing with one of the force components against a mounting face (M), and the other force component directly against an attachment face (A) of the fitted pin. The attachment face is directly constituted by the fitted pin which is fixed in a receptacle on an object (7) to be measured. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for fastening a support of a scale of a linear measuring device (2) a linear measuring device comprising a support for a scale.
