A plasma display panel is provided to prevent deterioration of a phosphor layer by removing residual moisture and coal after a baking process of a phosphor layer. A first substrate(1) includes address electrodes(3), a dielectric layer(5) for covering the address electrodes, a barrier rib(7) formed on a front surface of the dielectric layer, discharge cells defined by the barrier rib, and a phosphor layer(9) positioned within each of the discharge cells. A second substrate(11) includes display electrodes(13) having transparent electrodes(13a) and bus electrodes(13b), a transparent dielectric layer(15) for covering the display electrodes, and a protective layer(17). The barrier rib includes an inorganic sorbent comprising an ion exchange type zeolite of 10 to 1500m^2/g.
