FIELD: mechanical engineering; sealing devices. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to process of sealing of plastic or plastic-coated containers. Proposed sealing device for container has neck with plastic-covered foil welded from one side to inner flange of neck and welded by means of lowering down section at opposite side to side wall of container. When foil is torn off, cutting off force more likely than stretching force is created, being applied between section of foil and container. Said sealing device can be used with polyethylene terephthalate bottle or with containers of other types made of plastic or coated with plastic. ^ EFFECT: prevention of warping of filling part of neck, increased strength of weld. ^ 13 cl, 10 dwg
