A disk setting error detection device of an optical disk player is provided to detect a state of a disk being imperfectly set on a turntable, and to previously stop a rotative driving action of a spindle motor, thereby preventing the imperfectly set disk from being damaged by rotation and preventing a working error from being generated. If a disk(D) is imperfectly set on a turntable(10) by being disposed on an upper separated side of a clamper(30), a clamper's excessive rising detection device(50) which is in a tact switch type sends a detection signal at a moment of being contacted in order to detect that the clamper(30) excessively rises. A controller receives the sent detection signal to stop a rotative driving action of a spindle motor(20) in advance.
