PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote cooling of a front lower part of an article storage chamber, and improve temperature distribution in a chamber. SOLUTION: The open showcase includes a plurality of article shelves 10 (10-1 to 10-4) arranged in a vertical multistage in the article storage chamber 2 having an opening on a front surface, and air curtains 11, 12 formed by cool air circulating around the article storage chamber 2, is provided with a blocking member 23 for blocking between the bottom article shelf 10-4 and a rear surface wall 3a of the article storage chamber 2, and is provided with a clearance 19 for passing the cool air between the article shelves 10-1 to 10-3 on the upper stages than the bottom article shelf 10-4 and the rear surface wall 3a. A cool airflow 15 flowing down along the rear surface wall 3a out of cool airflows 14 flowing in the chamber from an upper part of the article storage chamber is forcibly flown into a space 20 between the bottom article shelf 10-4 and the article shelf 10-3 on the next stage above by the blocking member 23, and a front part of the space 20 and a space in a periphery of a suction port 13 positioned below are cooled.
