PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dissolving cellulose triacetate, by which the cellulose triacetate can uniformly be dissolved in a solvent in a state keeping a dissolution tank at the atmospheric pressure without a pressure-resistant container as the dissolution tank, and an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: This method for dissolving the cellulose triacetate is characterized by keeping a gaseous phase portion in the dissolution tank at a lower temperature than the boiling temperature of a solvent, returning the vaporized solvent in the dissolution tank and simultaneously dissolving the returned vaporized solvent, when the cellulose triacetate is dissolved in the solvent. The apparatus for dissolving the cellulose triacetate is characterized by having a device for keeping the gaseous phase portion in the dissolution tank at a lower temperature than the boiling temperature of the solvent, and a cooling device for returning the solvent evaporated from the dissolution tank to the dissolution tank. The cellulose triacetate solution obtained by the present invention is suitable as an acetate fiber-spinning dope little containing undissolved cellulose triacetate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
