PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To align paper sheets well even when the paper sheets with large curl or waveness are stacked on a paper sheet stacking unit. SOLUTION: A paper sheet stacking device presses paper sheets by a paper sheet pressing means in a stage in which the paper sheets of the predetermined number are stacked in a stacking unit 50. In the paper sheet pressing means, a pressing member 503 is provided on a tip of a rack plate 507, driven by a motor M7 as a driving means via a gear G4, and moved in the direction orthogonal to a paper sheet supporting face of a supporting plate 502, and set to the position of pressing a bundle of the paper sheets S1 or the retracting position separate from the bundle of the paper sheets S1.
