PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary tool which detects seating by a simple configuration irrespective of a mate member being hard or soft, and prevents excessive tightening and early fixation of a screw. SOLUTION: The rotary tool 1 is provided with a distance measuring means 2. The rotary tool is provided with a control part 6 for detecting that distance between a seat face 4 of the mate member 3 and a tip of the rotary tool 1 becomes predetermined distance by the distance measuring means 2, determining it as seating, and stopping rotation of the rotary tool 1.
