PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection molding machine for a light alloy and a screw for the injection molding machine by which the machine can be prevented from being adversely operated and the quality of a molding can be improved by preventing the deposition of solid-phase grains of semi-solid slurry. SOLUTION: In the injection molding machine 100, molten metal is stirred by axially rotating a screw 22 arranged in a barrel 21. At this time, the temperature in the barrel 21 is adjusted between a liquidus temperature and a solidus temperature with a temperature control jacket 24a and the molten metal is transformed into the semi-solid slurry. The molding material of the semi-solid slurry is allowed to flow toward the front part according to the retreating of the screw 22 and weighed in a stirring chamber at the tip-end side of the screw. In this way, the solid-phase grains are generated by depositing the semi-solidified slurry state formed material to the wall surface of the barrel 21 at the tip end side of the screw, but this solid-phase grains are scraped with a scraping wing at the top end part of the screw by advancing while rotating the screw 22.
