<p>A discharge lamp operating device comprises failure detecting means (9b) for detecting a failure of a discharge lamp (6), first storage means (10) for storing the detected failure, lighting lag detecting means (9c-3) for detecting the lighting lag time from the lighting start to the lighting, re-ignition voltage measuring means (9c-5) for measuring the discharge lamp voltage immediately after the change of the discharge lamp application polarity by AC operation, measuring means (9c-6) for measuring the discharge lamp current immediately after the polarity change and the period of time during which no current flows, lighting failure counting means (9c-4) for detecting a lighting failure of the discharge lamp and counting the failures, and second storage means (9c) for storing the lighting lag, the re-ignition voltage, the period of time during which no current flows, and the number of lighting failures as the operation history.</p> |
