<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of improving the power output. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell is provided with a fuel electrode 11 formed by supporting a catalyst supplied with a methanol aqueous solution being a fuel thereto; an air electrode 12 formed by supporting a catalyst supplied with air being an oxidation gas thereto; an electrolyte membrane 13 sandwiched in between the fuel electrode 11 and the air electrode 12; and an oxide mixing-in means 40 for mixing air being an oxide into the methanol aqueous solution, before the methanol aqueous solution is supplied to the fuel cell 11. Oxygen of the air supplied to the fuel electrode 11, along with the methanol aqueous solution, is reacted with carbon monoxide produced in the fuel cell 11 and carbon dioxide is produced from the carbon monoxide.
