<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell for decreasing the exhaust amount of hydrogen gas, hardly producing problems of exhaust gas treatment or gas discharge, and stably, continuously, and efficiently conducting power generation, and to provide the power generation method using the fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell includes a single unit cell or a plurality of unit cells UC comprising a plate-shaped solid polymer electrolyte 1, a cathode side electrode plate 2, an anode side electrode plate 3, an oxygen containing gas supply part supplying oxygen-containing gas to the cathode side electrode plate 2, and a hydrogen gas passage part supplying hydrogen gas to the anode side electrode plate 3, and in the unit cell UC which forms the final stage of hydrogen gas supply, the passage cross section area of the hydrogen gas passage part is made 1% or less of the anode side electrode plate 3, and an exhaust control mechanism 10 for exhausting gas of 0.02-4 volume% of the hydrogen gas supplied to the unit cell UC is installed in an exhaust port of the hydrogen gas passage part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
