PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data management system and a quenching program for data management capable of preventing leakage of classified information and unexpected data loss. SOLUTION: In a self-quenching file generation apparatus 100 of a data supply source, a quenching condition for data 105 is set, and a quenching program including the quenching condition is generated. Furthermore, a self-quenching file 104 in which the quenching program is attached to data is generated and the file is provided to a terminal device 106 of a supply destination. In the terminal device 106 of the supply destination, extraction processing or the like for the self-quenching file 104 is performed appropriately to obtain data 105' and the quenching program 113. The quenching program 113, on the basis of a quenching condition included in itself, quenches the data 105'. On that occasion, it is possible to display a warning message on the terminal device 106 of the supply destination, transmit operation information or information on the environment or the like of a terminal to a prescribed contact address, or release quenching when the prescribed condition is met.
