PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk storage type disk device capable of continuously monitoring the moving conditions of a disk when the disk inserted from the insertion port of a case body is transferred to a loading completion position inside the case body and immediately detecting the disk of an abnormal outer diameter dimension. SOLUTION: A transfer unit 17 equipped with transfer rollers 112 and 113 is moved inside the case body 2, and the disk D inserted from the insertion port is transferred to the loading completion position by the transfer unit 17. The transfer unit 17 is provided with a pair of optical detection elements F1 and F2, and the disk D is continuously monitored by the optical detection elements F1 and F2 while the disk D is transferred. Also, monitoring by the optical detection elements F1 and F2 is continued until a detection element F3 for loading completion detection is operated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
