PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for retrieving a document referer by which information about a document is immediately obtained within a limit without acting contrary to confidentiality obligation to the document even when there is no access privilege. SOLUTION: When a keyword is input from an input display part 1 (S1), a retrieval part 2 makes a document information management part 3 retrieve a table 12 for retrieval by the keyword to obtain a document ID (S2). As a result of retrieval, when the document ID is not 0 case ("N" in S3), a history information management part 4 is made to retrieve a table 13 for reference recording by the document ID to obtain a user ID of a referer who refers to the document (S4). Then, a user information management part 5 is made to retrieve a user information table 15 by the obtained user ID to obtain a user name of the referer and to display the user name on an input display part 1 (S5).
