PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter for removing interfering gases which can remove hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide and is suitable for a gas detector. SOLUTION: The filter is disposed at a gas inlet of the gas detector. Powder of zinc oxide is milled into fine powder by using a ball mill, and a dispersant is added thereto to make up a suspension which is prepared and used as a concentrate solution, and a carrier, e.g., filter paper with permeability to air is impregnated with the concentrate solution, and then moisture is removed therefrom, whereby the filter having the carrier which carries the zinc oxide is made up.
