A method to transport and clean roots and tubers, which includes transporting a heap, scattering thereof, delivering onto separating working elements, cleaning from soil and plant admixtures and taking the cleaned roots and tubers, is the first object of the invention. Prior to the delivery onto the cleaning working elements, a heap is sieved through a cascade of vibratory screens of different "effective screening area" while it reduces gradually. A device to transport and clean roots and tubers, which consists of a main frame, a feeder, a reflecting brush, a cleaning working element, a roller cleaner, a finger cleaning steep climb and an unloading conveyer unloader, is the second object of the invention. The cleaning working element is made as a cascade of vibratory rod screens, arranged as inclined one, each of the elements of which is a totality of two rod screens, in which the lower ends are arranged in a joint cylindrical hinge, and the lower ones are placed with a space on two sides and are kinematically attached to separate vibratory mechanisms. Cells of the screens within the limits of each of the elements of the cascade are the same and, as a whole, become reduced in the lower elements of the cascade. Above the cylindrical hinge in each of the cleaning beds rows of driven beaters, the cantilever elastic blades of which are of a triangular shape, are mounted with a space, the direction of rotation of all of the beaters is the same and directed downwards. The upper parts of the reverse sides of each of the screens have cleaning brushes with elastic rods.
