<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably generate a delay corresponding to the number of mounted photosensitive drums, distances between the photosensitive drums, and the conveying speed of a printing paper. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: a color printer engine mounted with the plurality of photosensitive drums for color printing; a CPU (Central Processing Unit) which controls the color printer engine, a work memory that the CPU uses; and a memory dedicated to generation of a delay of a plurality of image data corresponding to the plurality of photosensitive drums, as the delay corresponding to the number of the mounted photosensitive drums, the distances between the photosensitive drums, and the conveying speed of the printing paper. The apparatus performs memory allocation through a stage of detecting the capacity of the memory dedicated to the delay generation, and a stage of allocating a portion of the work memory as a means for generating the delay according to the detected capacity of the memory dedicated to delay generation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
