COMPLEX COMPOUND AND OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium making use in record regeneration light near 400 nm wave length possible and having excellent light resistance.

SOLUTION: The optical recording medium 10 has a constitution in which a recording layer 4 is provided between a pair of substrates 2 and 8 and a dielectric layer 6 is formed between either one substrate 8 and the recording layer 4. The recording layer 4 comprises a complex compound composed of a metal and a dye compound. The dye compound is a compound which can be coordinated with the metal and having a structure in which a carbon ring or a heterocyclic ring and a benzene ring are bonded to both ends of a monomethine chain and containing an imino group bonded to the monomethine chain and a group bonded to the benzene ring and having active hydrogen.
