<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to view an image which has display luminance controlled within, for example, a luminance range arbitrarily set by the user himself, in accordance with surrounding illuminance, on an image display device which adjusts display luminance in accordance with surrounding illuminance. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device having a display part operated in accordance with display luminance calculated in accordance with surrounding illuminance or the like allows the user to arbitrarily set, for example, a range of the display luminance as a predetermined rule. The image display device includes a user interface which enables the user to easily input setting of the prescribed rule or perform the input of setting without being aware of it and displays an input bar indicating only an allowable set range of a maximum value as an input picture in the case of surrounding illuminance equal to or higher than prescribed illuminance and indicating only an allowable set range of a minimum value in the case of the surrounding illuminance lower than the prescribed illuminance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
