<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical analyzing apparatus capable of easily and certainly detecting a fault of transport of a liquid sample. <P>SOLUTION: The analyzing apparatus transports the liquid sample to a second chamber 116b by rotating, about the axis, a disc 100 for analysis where the liquid sample is introduced into a first chamber 116a, and analyzes the component in the liquid sample by optically scanning the first or second chamber. The liquid sample is introduced into the first chamber 116a, and the disc 100 for analysis is rotated to transport the liquid sample from the first chamber 116a to the second chamber 116b, then light quantity of transmitted light at a predetermined position 902 of the second chamber 116b is detected while the disc for analysis is rotated, and it is detected whether the liquid sample of the amount required for analysis is introduced into the second chamber 116b by comparing it with a predetermined threshold.
