PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor lead wire manufacturing method which prevents whiskers from growing on a weld zone of a CP wire and an aluminum wire. SOLUTION: The method executes a step of removing an alkaline cleaning solution, after forming a capacitor lead wire 1<SB>0</SB>by welding a CP wire 10 to an aluminum wire 11, and cleaning this lead wire 1<SB>0</SB>with the alkaline cleaning solution; and a step of heat treating the capacitor lead wire 1<SB>0</SB>, after and before these steps. After these steps, a weld zone 12 of the CP wire 10 and the aluminum wire 11 is coated with a thermosetting resin, to form a resin layer 13 to prevent whiskers from growing on the welding zone 12 over a long time.
