PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain mechanical energy by a steam engine of a simple structure from not only a high temperature heat source but also various low temperature condition heat source such as exhaust gas heat of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: A positive displacement engine 1 provided with a rotating rotor 13 is installed, a steam generating part 2 is installed below the same and a condenser 3 is installed above the same. Water heated in the steam generating part 2 becomes steam and is supplied to a positive displacement engine 1 and enters in a working chamber moving upward, and is sent to the condenser 3 after rotating the rotor 3 and is condensed to become condensation. Condensation drops to the rotor 13 in a lower position by gravity, and returns to the steam generation part 2 through rotation of the rotor 13 and the working chamber moving downward. This engine can efficiently operates even at low speed and does not require installation of a pump for re-circulating condensation, and a structure thereof becomes compact.
