PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient and simple manufacturing method of benzamide derivatives. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of benzamide derivatives represented by the formula wherein R<SB>4</SB>and R<SB>5</SB>are each hydrogen comprises causing the compound represented by the formula to react in a solvent containing hydrogen chloride. In the formula, R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are each a hydrogen atom, or an alkyl, aryl, acyl, carboalkoxy or carbobenzoxy group; R<SB>4</SB>and R<SB>5</SB>are each hydrogen, an acyl group or a carboalkoxy group; R<SB>3</SB>is a hydrogen atom, a cyano, nitro or amino group, or a halogen atom; provided that, when R<SB>4</SB>and R<SB>5</SB>are a each hydrogen atom, R<SB>1</SB>is an acyl group or a carboalkoxy group.
