PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an inward deformation of a sewing frame and stitch deviation caused by the deformation. SOLUTION: In a sewing machine, an embroidery frame 7 is cantilevered by a sewing machine body at the rear end part (lateral side on the back side in the direction Y). An embroidered cloth mounted on the embroidery frame 7 is held by holding clips 9. An auxiliary device 8 is attached at substantially the center part in the direction X of the embroidery frame 7 and between the front end and rear end of the embroidery frame 7 to regulate the interval between both ends. Receiving members 19 provided at both ends of the auxiliary device 8 are formed into a shape engaged to the side surface of the holding clip 9, so that the auxiliary device 8 is allowed to be mounted on the holding clips 9. The auxiliary device 8 is composed so as to be bent at a hinge member 13, so that the auxiliary device having the straightened hinge member 13 is allowed to be attached to the embroidery frame 7 and the auxiliary device having the bent hinge member is allowed to be detached from the embroidery frame 7.
