PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device capable of performing cutting of a recording material well by suppressing occurrence of poor cutting due to its own weight even in such an arrangement as a recorded material hangs down from the vicinity of a recording section and tension is applied to a cutting part. SOLUTION: The cutting device 30 comprises a cutter unit 40 for cutting a long sheet-like recording material in its width direction, and holding units 60A and 60B located below the cutter unit 40 under the posture during use. When the recording material is cut by means of the cutter unit 40, the holding units 60A and 60B can hold a part of the recording material located below the cutter unit. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
